The Word of God is a Person
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (Joh 1:1-5 av)
In the beginning was the Word, there was no book called the “bible”, yet the Word existed with God and the Word was God. Today there is an Anti-Christ spirit that says “the book we call the bible, is the Word of God”, yet this is not true, the Word of God existed clearly before the bible was ever written.
We know that this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ that wishes to be worshiped as God, rather than the true God, which is in the person of Jesus Christ. People that worship this Anti-Christ, which means “in place of Christ” demand that I also worship the same Anti-Christ that they worship, by claiming that anything that can be said, believed and received, must also be stated “
exactly the same way, according to their own understanding, in the bible”.
These people do not believe that God reveals any truth by his Holy Spirit; they believe that truth is found by the use of “tools”, human tools, hermeneutical exegesis and intellectual pursuit or hard study.
hermeneutics, the theory and practice of interpretation.
"During the Reformation hermeneutics came into being as a special discipline concerned with biblical criticism. The Protestant theologian Friedrich Schleiermacher, Friedrich Daniel Ernst, expanded the discipline from one concerned with removing obstacles preventing readers from gaining the proper understanding of a text to one concerned in addition with analyzing the necessary conditions for readers coming to any understanding of a text. The philosopher Wilhelm Dilthey, 1833-1911, German philosopher, expanded the discipline still further by conceiving of all of the human and social sciences as hermeneutical enterprises and trying to construct a method uniquely for them, instead of borrowing one from the natural sciences. In the 20th cent. hermeneutics has been developed by the philosophers Hans-Georg Gadamer, 1900-2002, German philosopher, b. Marburg and Paul Ricoeur." (Online encyclopedia)
Notice in the above statement on the issue of “hermeneutics”, it is the philosopher and the theologian that determines “the conditions that must be met for the readers to come to any understanding of the text”, therefore the credit for understanding scripture is cleverly taken away from the ministration of the Holy Spirit and given to the theologians and philosophers of this world; this is the Anti-Christ hard at work to deceive!
They claim the bible to be the Word of God, yet they do not believe the plain writings of scripture; the Anti-Christ is a hypocrite!
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” (1Jo 2:27 av) When the scriptures teach something the Anti-Christ doesn’t like, the spirit of Anti-Christ always hollers
“OUT OF CONTEXT!” – “YOU ARE ADDING TO THE WORD!” – “YOU MUST LISTEN TO THE THEOLOGIANS AND PHILOSOPHERS!”;
even though you can show other scriptures that support your position, you can show that you are not taking the letters out of context, it is never enough, the Anti-Christ will never see the logic of the testimony of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a true believer in Christ!
“Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God: Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.” (Eze 28:2-7 av)
The Devil is the prince of this world, he is the head theologian and philosopher in this world, Satan is the leader of the championship debating team; the only thing that threatens him are those who come to the Lord as little children, by faith, obtaining the grace and mercy of God and thereby live a life lead by the Spirit of God; trusting not in the words of men, but the power of God to save.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” (1Co 1:18-21 av)
John Calvin, the 26 year old genius, theologian, philosopher, lawyer, ex-Roman Catholic, politician – known as the “Tyrant of Geneva”, stated his rules for preaching; the twenty-five rules are as follows:
"direct beginning – extemporaneous delivery – scriptural context – stated theme – specific text – exegetical precision – literal interpretation – cross references – persuasive reasoning – reasonable deduction – familiar words – vivid expression – provocative questions – simple restatements – limited quotations – unspoken outline – seamless transition – focused intensity – pastoral exhortation – personal examination – loving rebuke – polemical confrontation – succinct summation – pressing appeal & climactic prayer" (As stated by theologian, Dr. Albert Mohler – So. Baptist).
It must be understood that Calvin taught that God speaks now exclusively, to his people, through “preaching” as taught by Calvin, from an approved seminary trained “preacher”.
Calvin taught that one could not be saved without a preacher, they could not hear from God on their own. Calvin also taught that a preacher could be preaching right doctrine, and if that preacher was not approved by Calvin or as Calvin would state, called by God, the preacher, no matter how accurate, was not preaching the “Word of God” to the people.
“And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.” (Lu 16:15 av) Proclaiming Christian, if you do not see the work of the Anti-Christ here in the teachings of Calvin, that you must go through him rather than thru Christ to be saved, I frankly do not know what to say!
This teaching of Calvin, where the wisdom of this world takes the place of the foolishness of preaching, where the ministration of the Spirit of God is replaced by the college wisdom of this world, where the power of God is taken out of the equation, where seminary training replaces faith in the power of God, how is it possible for you to be so blind?!
This is the Anti-Christ spirit at work!
I would just like to ask one Calvinist, what is foolishness to the world about Calvin’s preaching?
Is it not foolishness to the world, rather, to trust in God to save you, rather than your own efforts?
Is it not foolishness to the world to skip the college degree and go to the Lord for the Wisdom that begins with the fear of God?
Is it not foolishness to the world to sell all that you have and buy that field containing one pearl of great price?
Is it not foolishness to the world to become nothing and hate your own life, Christ in you the hope of glory?
Every aspect of Calvin’s preaching is taught and practiced to one degree or another by all worldly speakers of this day, yet God says that he has chosen the Foolishness of Preaching to save those who are lost! You may be impressed with your favorite speaker’s performance, unfortunately you do not savor the things that God savors.
Dear Baptist, Presbyterian, Reformed soul, you have been deceived by the Anti-Christ spirit because you have put confidence in the wisdom of men rather than the power of God to save you!
“For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (1Co 2:2-5 av) The text we started this article with, look at it for a minute.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Notice that the scriptures do not say “in the letters of the bible is life”, yet the light is in Jesus and that light is the light of men.
“NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Ps 119:105 av)
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” (Ps 119:11 av)
“Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.” (Ps 119:38 av)
“Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” (2Co 3:2-6 av)
The foundation of the Apostles are not written in the writings or epistles they left, the foundation of the Apostles are written in the hearts of men.
If you want to know the true teachings of the Apostles, you must read it in the hearts of men who have been taught by them. The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life, and if you have that life, you are a living epistle of the Apostles for all to read! You cannot get life from that which is dead, the letter, you must receive life from that which is living!
Calvinism teaches “receiving life from dead letters”, the Apostles teach “receiving life from the living!” This is the contrast of the Wisdom of God VS the wisdom of men.
The Anti-Christ spirit teaches against Christ; The Word teaches “Christ in you the hope of glory”; the religious people of this day, under the spirit of the Anti-Christ, are quick to stamp out this truth in the life of a believer;
should a believer believe himself to have received something from God, they are quickly reminded that they are not Jesus, so they cannot do the works of Jesus, they are quickly reminded that they are not one of the original Apostles, so they cannot do the same works that the Apostles did; they are quickly reminded to only hope for the life that comes, supposedly, from dead letters, even the institutes of “Christendom”.
We are reminded that we are just sinners saved by grace, having no actual discernable righteousness, due to any actions on our part, we instead have a positional righteousness that has no effect on the righteousness of our actual deeds, we are in bondage to sin as long as we live until death or the rapture!
Isn’t the teaching of the Anti-Christ wonderful?
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” (Col 2:6-10 av)
Again let me insist, the bible or any religious book is not “The Word of God”; The Word of God is a person, even the person of Jesus Christ!
Look at the original word used for “book” in the Hebrew, the second word in the descriptive meaning is “Evidence”. The bible is “Evidence” of the Word of God, but not the Word of God it’s self,
for if the written book was “The Word of God” – “That which is Perfect” than the book it’s self should be worshiped!
Worshiping a book will just make you an idol worshiper because it is not living and neither is it God. As the scriptures say “God is a spirit and those who worship him should worship him in Spirit and in Truth”. Anyone who worships dead letters, is an idol worshiper, I don’t know about you, but I seek to worship the living God, not dead letters!
“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.” (Ac 6:7 av)
“But the word of God grew and multiplied.” (Ac 12:24 av)
“So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” (Ac 19:20 av)
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” (Eph 6:17 av)
“Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.” (2Ti 2:9 av)
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb 4:12 av)
The above evidence clearly describes “The Word of God”. The Word of God grows, increases and prevails, a book does not; The Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit, a book is square and easily tares; The Word of God cannot be bound, books can be burned; The Word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; a book just looks pretty on the living room coffee table!
Worship no longer a book, but serve the True and Living Word of God! May the Sword strike the enemy!
